The Night to shine is an event sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. It was simultaneously hosted on Feb. 10 by 375 churches. The events took place in all 50 states and in 11 countries on six continents. More than 150,000 volunteers worked to make the events possible.
More than 75,000 people with special needs participated in the Night to Shine proms — and each one of them was crowned a king or a queen for the evening. As participants entered the event, they were greeted by paparazzi. Inside, they had their hair and makeup done and enjoyed a catered dinner and a dance floor. Tim Tebow surprised guests at the Jacksonville, Florida, event with a personal appearance. “I wouldn't miss this for the world,” he told the attendees. “This is so awesome ... churches getting together to celebrate people, to love people, to make a difference in peoples' lives. The coolest part is that every single one of you were crowned kings and queens because that's how God looks at you every single day of your life.”
DJ Jason provides Tampa & Atlanta DJ
The local churches who sponsored the event needed high quality DJs to service the event. Real Life Church in Orlando and Calvary Chapel Baptist in Atlanta immediately called DJ Jason & Associates to service the event. They needed a high caliber DJ Atlanta to keep the event moving and interactive. DJ DeAndre handled the event in Atlanta, while owner DJ Jason handled the event at Real Life Church in Clermont, Fl.
Everybody had a Blast!
There were a number of pre-prom activities for the guests. Local beauticians, Mary Kay representatives, and other volunteers made sure the women were ready to party by doing their hair, makeup, and nails. The men had their shoes shined.
Each guest continued on to receive a corsage before being crowned either king or queen of the prom—and, yes, each one received his or her own crown or tiara. Then volunteers escorted each guest down the red carpet to the cheers of a welcoming crowd and toward a photo op with the waiting paparazzi.
There was plenty of fun music, good food, lots of laughter , and a terrific Atlanta DJ at Night to Shine. Once the party started there was plenty of fun music, good food, and a lot of laughter. During the prom, additional activities took place like goofy pictures in a photo booth, arts and crafts, and karaoke.
